Why I'm Running

I’m running for Newcastle City Council Position No. 6 to put Newcastle first and address the issues that matter most to you. Our community deserves a leader who prioritizes your needs and delivers solutions. Unlike partisan politicians, I answer only to you - not to the special interests, or any political party. I understand the impact of rising property taxes on top of our huge state taxes, and am committed to manage city budget wisely.

As a wife, mother and 10-year Newcastle resident, I cherish our city's natural beauty and I am invested in maintaining Newcastle as a safe community. Serving on the Planning Commission,  I've heard your concerns firsthand. Moving forward, I’ll champion responsible growth to preserve our quality of life, ease traffic congestion, and build housing where it makes sense: near transit, jobs and retail. I’ll advocate for smart spending and reduce tax burden on residents and keep our seniors in their homes and our community.

As a seasoned finance professional at Boeing, I bring real-world experience in finance, project management, and strategic decision-making. I've managed complex projects including certifying financial controls for Shared Service Group; overseeing $600M+ annual IT budget; integrating subsidiaries and mitigating supply chain risks. I believe in giving back. I mentored early-career professionals, served on the board of Building Changes to combat homelessness in Washington state, and am now on my second term as our city Planning Commissioner. I'm ready to bring my results-driven mindset to the Newcastle City Council. It's our city, your voice. Together, we will put Newcastle first and deliver practical solutions for Newcastle.

I’ll lead with empathy, discipline, and a commitment to excellent service. With your vote, I'll work tirelessly to strengthen Newcastle - for today and future generations.
